About Holding Dementia Hands

Hello and a heartfelt welcome to our website. I'm Immacula, proud former caregiver for over two decades. I've experienced Lewy Body Dementia and sole caregiving first-hand. My journey over the years as a caregiver, to my loved one has been both profound and personal. Each step and challenges I've faced, has been imprinted in my heart, shaping me into who I am today.

As the founder of Holding Dementia Hands, my mission extends beyond my own experiences to raise Dementia awareness and offer support to caregivers navigating their journey. The loss of my mother, an incredible pillar of strength and inspiration in my life. While, grappling with the stages of grief and adapting to a life without the routine of caregiving, I found myself at a crossroads. Yet, it was in this space of reflection and longing that Holding Dementia Hands was born. My passion to promote awareness.

My love for decorating, a spark of joy amidst the sadness, became a vessel. It inspired the launch of our first HDH Awareness Collection—a series of home décor items designed not just to beautify spaces but to kindle conversations and foster understanding about Dementia and caregiving. But our vision doesn't stop there. We host an annual charitable event, a beacon of hope and support for caregivers immersed in the daily care of loved ones with Alzheimer's or other Dementia variations. These caregivers, the unsung heroes of our healthcare system, devote their lives to providing love, care, and dignity.

A portion of every purchase on our website becomes a trigger donation, directly supporting these events and caregivers. At Holding Dementia Hands, we believe in the power of community, of collective support, and of holding hands, both literally and metaphorically. "We're all Holding Dementia Hands, when caring for those living with Dementia and supporting caregivers while they provide care." This isn't just a statement—it's our commitment to making a difference. -Proud Former Caregiver
